Is America in prophecy? Many Bible prophecy experts say "No!" I disagree. I firmly believe that America is the end times Babylon talked about in many places in scripture. It is easy to come to this same conclusion if you simply list all the parameters accociated with end times Babylon and then compare those parameters with the United States. It is the only country that meets all the parameters.

Here are some of the parameters which lead me to conclude that America is the end times Babylon talked about in Bible prophecy. This quote is from The Coming Epiphany.

The main reason why I — along with many others — believe that America is the Babylon talked about in Revelation 18 is because of several verses that, when considered collectively, lead us to conclude that America is the only country that fulfills all of the parameters listed in the verses. Let us examine what the scriptures say about this modern day end-times Babylon and see how they undeniably point to America.

1. End-times Babylon is a great nation that receives judgment for its many sins.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (Rev. 18:2)

2. This nation is a superpower and has world dominance and importance. It has also spread its corruption to the world.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her. (Rev. 18:3)

3. The merchants of the world are made rich through trading with this nation. This nation consumes huge amounts of goods.

And the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. (Rev. 18:3)

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. (Rev. 18:11–13)

4. This nation is proud and arrogant and considers herself to be invincible and the greatest nation on earth.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. (Rev. 18:7)

5. This nation is typified by an extravagant lifestyle.

And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! (Rev. 18:16)

6. Other nations are controlled by her and given great riches by her.

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her. (Rev. 18:9)

7. This nation is a coastal nation, with deepwater ports and much international trade.

And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off. (Rev. 18:17)

8. This nation has defenses in the heavens.

Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord. (Jer. 51:53)

Which is the only nation in the world that meets all those qualifications? America! We are the greatest country in the world. We are the only remaining super power. We dominate world politics and dictate much of what happens in other countries through whom and what we fund in those countries. We have the largest Gross National Product (GNP) in the world, far surpassing all other countries. We buy huge amounts of goods from other countries. In fact, the economy of many countries would collapse without our trade dollars. We are a proud and arrogant people and feel that we are invincible and that we are the greatest nation in the world. America, as a whole, lives in luxury compared to the rest of the world. America has many deepwater ports, and the vast majority of goods entering this country come by way of ship. And, yes, we now are the only country that has offensive and defensive weapons in space. , The only country that meets all of the qualifications above is America.

Yes, America is described in Revelation 18 as the end-times Babylon. R.A. Combes, in his book America the Babylon, sums it up like this:

So if not America, what nation will be the ‘mystery Babylon’ spoken of in Revelation, chapters 17 and 18? I submit that there is no other nation that could or will, and that therefore America must be the “super” nation mentioned in Revelation…..Empirical data suggests that it is America, not Rome, or London, nor some resurrected Iraqi empire, nor the United States of Europe. Textually, from the scriptures, there is overwhelming evidence that is ironclad in its data pointing only to the identity of ‘mystery Babylon’ as being that of the United States of America. Revelation chapters 17 and 18 give us 65 major identifying data points, which are identifying markers, that point out the identifying characteristics that point out the identity of this ‘Babylon’, and what its future will be.

It is also interesting that, at this time in history, America, as a result of the Iraq war, has conquered and is in control of ancient Babylon. Even though Iraq has been officially handed over to the Iraqis, we are still in control, and many have deemed the government now in place a puppet government. Ancient Babylon was a world power that encompassed the ancient “mystery” religions, hedonism, and materialism. America also embraces the ancient “mystery religions,” hedonism, and materialism, and in many ways is similar to ancient Babylon, and ironically, now controls the land it once occupied.

Some think that the end-times Babylon mentioned in Revelation 18 is Rome. They base their reasoning on Rev. 17:9: “And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.” Through the centuries, Rome has been called the city of seven hills; thus, they make the connection that end-times Babylon is Rome. But Rome does not meet the qualifications of the great nation that has control over the world during the end-times as outlined above.

Here is what author Stewart Best said about this:

"Rome is usually pointed at as being Babylon the city, if a literal city is even recognized. Rome, however, does not come close to being able to fulfill the parameters of God for the identification of the city, Babylon. It fails in almost all aspects. Because it does not meet the requirements of God, Rome cannot be the “great city” Babylon. This is not to say that Rome is not important in prophecy, for it is - it plays a major role and is part of the Babylonian system!

The argument goes that Rome is a city-state, and the Vatican is in reality a nation, which it is, but beyond that fact, it utterly fails all of the parameters for Babylon the Great. Babylon the Great is a large nation, with many cities. It has many huge warm water seaports, a huge military, a space program, etc. Rome does not fulfill any of these. Therefore, believe God and not man."

Here is what another author has to say about the Rome/Babylon connection:

"Some Bible expositors make a big deal of the fact that Revelation 17 refers (verse 9) to the seven heads of the Beast as “seven hills”. (Rome was apparently built on seven hills.) A momentary allusion to Rome was appropriate at the time, but everything else in the same chapter makes it clear that even the hills are not literal hills, but rather “seven kings”. So there are circles within circles here (as there are is so many prophecies) that are easily missed if one becomes obsessed with only one aspect of a prophecy."

So if one pays close attention to the language of Revelation 17 and 18, one can easily see that Rome does not meet the qualifications of end-times Babylon; nor does ancient Babylon itself, located in Iraq. Neither meets the qualifications of deep-water ports, weapons in space, world super power status, and extravagant lifestyle.

Still not convinced that America is the end-times Babylon? Here are some verses that prove it conclusively...

What will happen to America the Babylon? She will suffer 2 judgments. The first will be a devestating nuclear attack during wwIII right after the rapture.

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10. Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. (Revelation 18:1-10)

The second will be when she sinks under the ocean when the Lord Jesus returns at Armageddon.

And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. (Revelation 16:19-21)

The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. (Jeremiah 51:42)

There is a lot to digest here but I agree America is Babalon. It is hard to think about.

Yes I agree that it is hard to think about; the country that was founded upon Christian principles has strayed so far from God and will play a large role in bringing about the New World Order, and will then be destroyed by it, and will eventually sink under the waves. O America I wish it were not so, I pray that many will have their eyes opened to the truth and will repent before it is too late.

Thinking about America being Babylon. I have thought more about it and I don’t see the US as Babylon. I think we see America as becoming increasingly evil and find reasons for Gods wrath on us. We think of abortion, corruption, wickedness on TV/movies, sexual perversion, etc as reasons that God must punish us. The end doesn’t come because of sins, but because of a specific act, at a specific time, by a specific person, satin. It is brought on by the return of Israel (not the church or sin), the world (and satin) can’t stand Israel.

God is pleased when we lift up Jesus and praise him for saving us in spite of our sins. True a saved person‘s life will become more sinless, but it is due to the Holy Spirit not us. That would be like God being impressed by something he did. We are confusing to the unsaved and spreading an incorrect gospel. Are our sins forgiven or not?

We really dont fit. All nations hate us, the wealth is now in Asia. as far as (all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication) this a real complex phrase that I think eliminates the US.

We may be destroyed in war or ecomomics but "Babylon" misses us.

Yes I agree that it is hard to imagine that the united states is end times Babylon. What helps us understand that America is end times Babylon is that we must first realize that scripture does tell us that there is an end times babylon and then we must look at scripture and see what it tells us about end times babylon. I have listed several parameters that scripture gives us concerning end times babylon above, and I list many other facts about end times babylon in The Coming Epiphany. If you look at all the facts that scripture tells us about end times babylon and then ask yourself the question what country fulfills all of the parameters listed in scripture? There is only one country that fulfills all the scriptural parameters and that is America.

Take a look at the back of a dollar bill. In the two circles are depicted both sides of The Great Seal. The pyramid is on one side of the Great Seal and the eagle on the other. The great seal is used to authenticate official U.S. documents.

The Pyramid represents the past. Note that the capstone of this pyramid is not in place, thus denoting an unfinished situation. This unfinished situation was planned to remain in effect until the Old World Order was destroyed and replaced with The New World Order.

5. Thirteen Layers to the Pyramid = The number, ‘13’ is the occult number of Depravity and Rebellion.

Here is another quote that not only brings out the meaning of the pyramid side of the seal but also the other side.

This is the Illuminati’s pyramid symbol. There are “13” stacks of bricks on the ‘all seeing eye’ pyramid. The official national seal of the United States contains “13” arrows, “ 13” letters, “13” laurel leaves, “ 13” berries, “ 13” stars above the eagle in the form of a hexagram, “13” stripes on the shield. The “ 9” tail feathers indicate the “9” additional degrees of the York Rite of Freemasonry. Then the American eagle with 32 feathers on one wing and “33” on the other. There are “33” steps on the side of the pyramid representing the “33” degrees of Freemasonry.

Here is what Alice Bailey who was the head of the House of Theosophy for many years and who’s husband was a 33rd degree Mason said about the “all seeing eye” of satan depicted on the dollar bill.

The Masonic movement …is the home of the Mysteries, and the seat of initiation. It holds in its symbolism the ritual of Diety, and the way of salvation is pictorially preserved in its work. The methods of Diety are demonstrated in its Temples, and under the All-seeing Eye the work can go forward. It is a far more occult organization than can be realized, and it is intended to be the training school for the coming advanced occultists.

So we can see that the symbol on the back of a dollar bill is an Illuminati symbol depicting the forthcoming New World Order, implying that America will play a large role in its formation. There are some “official” explanations concerning the meaning of the symbols on the Great Seal, but these are merely attempts to mask their true meaning.
Notice what happens when you draw a six-pointed star as depicted below. The points of the star point to the letters “MASON.” Is that by coincidence or design? I have calculated the odds that the six points align with the letters “MASON” to be at least 380,000 to one.




It is also interesting to note that if you take the date of 1776 that appears in Roman numerals across the bottom of the pyramid as “MDCCLXXVI” and place each letter at the vertices of three successive triangles some interesting numbers appear.

This may be pure coincidence, or it may be some veiled Illuminati message giving some information about the antichrist and or the establishment of the NWO. We know that 666 is the number of the antichrist, I can only speculate as to what the 1110 means, but it may be in reference to the timing of WWIII, which we will discuss later in this chapter. It is interesting to note that in Babylon, they used a sexagesimal number system, and converting 1110 from a sexagesimal into a centesimal system, we get 1110 x 0.60 = 666.
The History of the Seal
The history of the seal is equally interesting and shows an Illuminati connection:

Even though it was officially voted into creation by a meeting of Freemason Continental Congressmen in 1782, the symbol was hidden from public view for fear the American people would recognize it as being the satanic symbol it truly was.

However, in 1935, the Guiding Spirit of President Roosevelt and Agriculture Secretary Wallace told them the time had arrived to put this symbol on the back of the One Dollar Silver Certificate, for the people had moved far, far away from their Christian roots and awareness of both the Bible and the “wiles” and “strategies” of satan.

Henry Wallace, a friend of President Roosevelt, was also a prominent Freemason, and in 1934, he wrote about the significance of the Great Seal.

It will take a more definite recognition of the Grand Architect of the Universe before the apex stone [capstone of the pyramid] is finally fitted into place and this nation in the full strength of its power is in position to assume leadership among the nations in inaugurating ‘the New Order of the Ages.’

Not only is the great seal a symbol that links America to the Illuminati, but so is the architectural design of Washington D.C. We will not delve into that topic here, but here is the link to a Web site that expounds upon that topic.
Thus from the above discussion, and realizing that America is the most powerful nation in the world, it is obvious that America will play a large role in bringing about the New World Order and “finishing the pyramid.”

It is interesting to see the recent series of events and the changes happening to America affecting our position in the world. I personally don't think we will recover though we may have strong rebounds at times. I think we will all be surprised as we approach the end.

I have a concern and don't know where to place it so I will start here. I see in churches today an almost flip flop concept of the sin of the world, in relation to the anger of God on the world. The fundamental churches and the new age grace churches on opposite sides of the question. Both positions miss Gods teaching.

Man has a sin nature. The Bible says our sins will give us problems in this life. The only thing that really matters is our acceptance of Jesus. God doesn't expect the unsaved to be Holly, and our holiness isn't our efforts, it is God working in us for his pleasure. I can fight the Holy Spirit and pay the price for it. If I do have success with a sin on my own it will probably bring pride and a problem attitude latter.

The big issue is lost in the noise. We are to tell people to TRUST that God is willing and able to forgive any sin. The message people are hearing is God is getting so angry with our sins (mostly social sins are named) He is going to destroy the world. Why would someone want to open up to that kind of God. Technically sin today is no worse than many times in the past (in fact probably not as bad). The end is coming because God is holding up a line and satan is trying to cross it.

Our real job is to TRUST God. That is what is not being preached and is bringing judgment and weakness on the Church. Remember Jesus wondered if he would find faith when he returns, not if He would find Holiness.
